【摘要】:TestMethodD4510forthecountingofpartialcleavages,maybeusedfortheacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofwoolandotheranimalfibers,butcautionisadvised,sinceinformationonbetween-laboratoryprecisionislimited.Comparativetestsasdirectedin5.1.1maybeadvisable.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensthatareashomogeneousaspossibleandthatarefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudentst-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforethetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinthelightoftheknownbias.Chemicallydamagedortenderedfibersarerecognizablemicroscopicallybyqualifiedoperatorsandshouldnotbecountedaspartialcleavages.Suchfibersexhibittotallossofcuticle,severesurfaceerosion,tenderizingcracks,longitudinalfibrillation,oracombinationofthesefeatures(seeFigs.1and2).Inastudyofdeliberatelyover-carbonizedwoolatonelaboratory,itwasfoundthatwhenmorethan24tenderedfiberswereseenin1m,partialcleavagecountsweresignificantlyhigherthanonsimilarfibersthatwerenotovercarbonized.FIG.1(A)PartialCleavagex2014;Butdonotcountifitisattheendofafiber.ThesplitmayhavebeencausedbyothermeansFIG.1(Bx2013;D)SplitFiber(continued)FIG.2FiberWithTransverseCracks1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedure,usingthemicroprojector,forthecountingofpartialcleavagesinwoolandotheranimalfibers.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
