【摘要】:Airbornehexavalentchromiumiscarcinogenic(1),andanalyticalmethodsforthemeasurementofthisspeciesinworkplaceaerosolsaredesired.Workerexposuretohexavalentchromiumoccursprimarilythroughinhalation(1),andthistestmethodprovidesameansforexposureassessmenttothishighlytoxicspecies.Analyticalresultsfromthisprocedurecanbeusedforregulatorycompliancepurposes(2).1.1Thistestmethodspecifiesamethodforthedeterminationofthetime-weightedaveragemassconcentrationofhexavalentchromiuminworkplaceairsamples.1.2Themethodisapplicabletothepersonalsamplingoftheinhalablefractionofairborneparticles,asdefinedinISO7708,andtoarea(static)sampling.1.3Thesampledissolutionprocedurespecifiesseparateproceduresforsolubleandinsolublehexavalentchromium.1.4Themethodisapplicabletothedeterminationofmassesof0.01x03BC;gto10x03BC;gofhexavalentchromiumpersamplewithoutdilution.1.5Theconcentrationrangeforhexavalentchromiuminairforwhichthisprocedureisapplicableisapproximately0.1x03BC;g/m3to100x03BC;g/m3,assuming1m3ofairsample.Therangecanbeextendedupwardsbyappropriatedilution.1.6Interconversionoftrivalentandhexavalentchromiumspeciesmayoccurduringsamplingandsamplepreparation,buttheseprocessesareminimizedtotheextentpossiblebythesamplingandsamplepreparationproceduresemployed.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
